American Ruger 45 - Ruger has once again expanded its popular line of American Ruger pistols with the .45 ACP Ruger American Compact, now available with an attractive gray Cerakote finish on both the hand frame and slide. This new offering comes with or without manual safety.
The barrel of the cartridges is 3.75 inches, the overall length is 7.25 inches and the weight is 28.6 inches. The Ruger American Compact in gray has a 1.05-inch wide slide and a 4.65-inch height. The pistol also has three 7-round nickel-teflon-coated steel magazines and a set of medium and large grip modules.

"Official" FBI tests show that there is no difference in stopping power between 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP. But I refuse to believe that these three circles are nearly equal when it comes to stopping a fatal encounter. I shoot a lot, and I mean a lot of shooting for my articles, including target shooting, tactical shooting, and just shooting for fun. If there's one thing I've noticed when shooting handguns of different calibers, it's that some calibers hit a lot harder than others. When there are targets of opportunity, like boulders the size of a fist, I will focus on them. The 9mm will separate these rocks and eventually break them. The .40 S&W is much more powerful and gets the job done faster. However, if we use a .45 ACP round on rocks of the same size, it will break them -
Now this isn't a scientific test, but with the same patterns as above, the 9mm moves very little when it hits a large rock. The .40 S&W shakes those rocks a little more. However, when fired around the .45 ACP - the rocks will move very little. So I don't know how this relates to real world stopping power or "knockdown" power, but it tells me that the .45 ACP hits much harder than the other two rounds.

9mm, even with +P ammo, is really easy for most people to shoot, while .40 S&W can be a little different with different ammo, so many police departments, FBI, and other agencies The feds are back in 9mm. on the .40S & W. The 9mm version holds 10 or 12 rounds - the LEO version has three 12-round magazines, while the other models only have 10-round magazines. The new American Compact .45 ACP comes standard with three 7-round magazines, and these cups are Teflon-coated, making them easy to insert into the pistol and even easier to load at full capacity—a great design.

The difference Now, the .45 ACP American Compact isn't really "that" much bigger, but it's big enough that you can tell the difference between the two guns. The .45 version has a barrel length of 3.75 inches and a slide that is 1.25 inches wide. It is also slightly longer compared to the 9mm model. This little forty-five weighs only 28.6 ounces, making it very light compared to a full size or even a Commander size 1911. One thing worth noting is that the .45 model seems to balance everything. much better than the 9mm model in my hand. It's hard to explain, but if you try to put the two in a row, I think you'll agree that the .45 balances a bit better.
Of course, Ruger's entire line of American pistols are aggressively shot, and I absolutely loved those types of trigger pulls. The Striker preload system has a strong shock spring for a very positive ignition, and this was achieved by creating a heavier trigger. This pistol has a very nice trigger. It breaks right into 5 pounds. The barrel groove spreads the recoil over a longer period of time and actually reduces felt recoil. I don't know how it was done, but I love it.
You don't need any tools to remove the American gun line, and you don't need to pull the trigger (Glock style) before removing it - a great safety feature. Flat floor plate mounted on the mag or you can replace it just take a minute - on the mag floor plates that have the pink receiver. The last ones are the ones I installed. Just this little magazine extension makes the pistol very manageable in every way. There are also areas on the handle that are 'textured' for a secure grip
